Children And Audio Books
Children love storytelling sessions. In fact, they can be held in thrall by an imaginative grandparent or parent who is particularly good at spinning a tale. Gone are the good old days, when some of these story tellers were fine homespun actors as well. And the children listened in wide-eyed amazement while the captivating story teller enacted scenes - complete with voice modulation and even some background music thrown in by way of amateur ventriloquism.
India today is witness to a growing number of nuclear families. With parents pressed for time, the art of telling bed time stories is dying. The hearty news is that audio books have taken the place of such storytellers in this fast-paced world, where people are often forced to leave children alone at home and go about their daily chores.
The audio format of audio books allows for 'anytime listening' - on the go or at home. They are a wonderful way of keeping peace in the backseat of the car while doing long distance car trips.
It's simply a great way of allowing the child to play with audible words, listen to them and sound them. The power of the spoken word takes hold of the child, allows the imagination to flow free, creates visual imagery for the child and helps the child develop an ear for music, rhyme and rhythm - offering a whole new audio experience for the young listener.
